What is the Gifts From The Heart Program?
The
Gifts From The Heart (GFTH) Program is an annual holiday gift-giving program designed to provide gifts to children, senior and disabled adult clients served by the Divisions of Child Protective Services and Senior and Adult Services.
Since its inception in 1988, the program works with over 100 community partners each season to sponsor over 3,000 children, senior and disabled adult clients for holiday gifts.
The Department of Child, Family & Adult Services appreciates the continued participation and support given to the GFTH Program by our wonderful community partners and volunteers.
Who Participates in the GFTH Program?
Our community partners are comprised of businesses entities, government agencies, faith based organizations, service groups, professional groups, private individuals and families.
GFTH is made possible with the generous gifts and monetary contributions from our community partners. It is only through their participation and generosity, that we are able to bring holiday cheer to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
GFTH welcomes all interested persons or groups who wish to participate in making the holidays brighter for children, seniors and disabled adults by either sponsoring gifts or volunteering time during the season.
How can I help?
You may sign up as a community partner to
sponsor children, seniors and disabled adults for gifts during the holiday season.
We
also accept monetary donations; 100% of donations are spent on gifts for
children, seniors and disabled adults served by the Department of Child,
Family & Adult Services. All gifts and monetary donations are tax deductible. Please contact the
Gifts From the Heart Coordinator or at (916) 875-2027 for more information.
You may donate time to make this program successful. The program also needs volunteers during the holiday season.

How does the GFTH Program Work?
The GFTH is coordinated through the Volunteer Services/Community Partnerships Office of the Department of Child, Family & Adult Services. A team of volunteers manage the distribution, pick-up, and delivery of donated gifts from our community partners. The gift process is fairly simple:
Social workers request gifts on behalf of children, seniors and disabled adults on their active caseloads.
- The requests are distributed to our partner organizations whose members will fill the gift requests.
- The wrapped gifts are returned to the social workers who deliver them to the children, seniors and disabled adults in time for the holidays.
A Word of Sincere Thanks…
On behalf of the thousands of children, seniors and disabled adults whose lives have been touched each holiday season by your kindness, generosity, and caring…. We thank you for them, and for supporting the Sacramento County Department of Child, Family & Adult Services’ Gifts From The Heart Program.
