SACRAMENTO, Calif. – To complement National Public Health Week, Sacramento County Division of Public Health launched the "Be Healthy Sacramento" website this week. The new data site is designed as a hub for public data on a variety of topics.
The site not only hosts general health data but also includes information and data on economic development, air quality, education, and public safety. Public health is determined by myriad environmental factors, and, the site is intended to include all aspects of public health, in addition to commonly known health variables such as vaccination rates and disease information.
"Public Health receives a lot of data requests," says Dr. Olivia Kasirye, Sacramento County Public Health Officer. "This website is a place we can send the public and media to get the information they need in an easy to comprehend format."
In addition to being a central point for health and other public data, the new site also hosts a slew of recent public health news and information such as the latest news on Ebola and Measles. The community dashboard allows visitors to easily see how the health of Sacramento County compares to California and the nations.
