FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sacramento, CA—Health officials are reminding parents that new state law requires students in junior high and high school to be immunized against pertussis (whooping cough) and to show proof of immunization to their school in order to register for fall semester.  Students who received a booster shot on or after their 7th birthday have already met the requirement.

To obtain a Tdap booster shot, parents should contact their health provider.  For more information, please call (916) 875-SHOT (7468) and/or see www.scph.com.
