Sacramento County is working to make the Sacramento region livable and accessible for County residents throughout their life.

Sacramento County joined the AARP Age-Friendly Network of States and Communities in 2021. Once enrolled in the network, a community begins a multi-year cycle consisting of a community assessment, action plan, and progress reports. Sacramento County conducted the community assessment in 2022 and will complete a local age and disability-friendly action plan by the end of 2024.

The draft action plan is posted at https://www.agefriendlysaccounty.org/
