The Special Assault Forensic Evaluation (SAFE) Center is located at 3701 Power Inn Rd. Suite 3001, Sacramento, CA 95826. The Center was established to assist children and dependent adults who may be victims of sexual, physical abuse, or witnesses to violent crimes, including domestic violence, homicide, and drug endangered children. The purpose of the Center is to reduce the number of interviews and people who will talk to the alleged victim and provide a welcoming, child-friendly atmosphere for interviews to take place. A forensic interview specialist conducts the interview. This is a social worker who has special training and experience in talking to children about difficult subjects. The interview is recorded, however, information from the interview is shared solely with people who are involved in the investigation.
